Travel to Jiuzhaigou National Park is possible year-round. Each season has something different to offer. Most visitors come to Jiuzhaigou from April through October, with September and October being the busiest months.
Wildflowers are abundant in June at lower elevations and in July at higher elevations. September and October bring fall colors. They are considered the beautiful seasons in the park, but there may be crowds along the roads/trails and the hotels are hard to book and very expensive.
If you want to take a pack trip, April, May, June, July, and Augus are the months to go.
During the winter (December through February), the park is covered with snow. The ponds, lakes, waterfalls, gullies and forests look like a white wonderland. Tourists are fewer, entrance tickets are discounted and hotels are cheaper.
