Jiuzhaigou Valley features a plateau humid climate, with an average annual temperature of 7.8°C. Spring temperatures typically range from 9 to 18°C, followed by 19–22°C in summer, 7–18°C in autumn, and -1 to 4°C in winter. The area receives 700–800 mm of rainfall annually, with cloud forest areas receiving at least 1,000 mm. Approximately 80% of the precipitation falls between May and September. The frost-free period averages around 100 days per year, and snowfall occurs from October through April.
