Mount Emei is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China, and is traditionally regarded as the bodhimanda of the bodhisattva Samantabhadra.
The mountain stretches about 200 kilometers from south to north, with its main peak Golden Summit which is 3,099 meters above sea level.
The mountain is famous for its natural landscape, along with Buddhism and Taoism. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
