Located in the Minshan Mountains in northwestern Sichuan Province, Huanglong National Park (Huanglong Valley) boasts one of the world's three most remarkable travertine lake terraces, stretching 3.6 kilometers and nestled beneath the majestic Xuebaoding Peak (Snow Treasure Mountain: 5,588 meters) resembling a yellow dragon. This unique landscape earned the valley its name, Huanglong (Yellow Dragon). The travertine formations were shaped over millennia through geological processes such as glacial activity, tectonic shifts, chemical reactions, and climate variations. At the valley's summit (3,556 meters), the standout attraction is the Five-Color Ponds, featuring 693 ponds of varying sizes, shapes, and hues, sparkling like exquisite emeralds. Huanglong is also celebrated for its stunning vistas of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, pristine forests, and serves as a crucial habitat for Giant Pandas and Golden Snub-nosed monkeys. These natural wonders contributed to Huanglong being designated as a World Natural Heritage Site in 1992.

Normally, it takes around 6 hours to hike from the entrance to the Five-Color Ponds and back. To optimize your time and energy, you will take a swift cable car to the summit and then descend on foot to appreciate the scenery of the valley. After approximately 3 hours of exploration in the valley, you will depart from the park and drive roughly 2 hours to Jiuzhaigou to check into your hotel.

Once a secluded haven housing nine Tibetan villages, Jiuzhaigou remained untouched by outsiders until its first discovery in the mid-20th century. Renowned for its exceptional and varied natural beauty, the park's waterfalls and plateau lakes are acclaimed as some of the most breathtaking aquatic scenes globally. Official records indicate the presence of 114 turquoise pools and lakes, 47 serene springs, 17 clusters of waterfalls, 11 rapids, and 5 beautiful tufa shoals scattered across the three main valleys of Jiuzhaigou: Rize Valley, Zechawa Valley, and Shuzheng Valley. These areas showcase a range of color patterns including white, blue, green, turquoise, and emerald that vary with the seasons. The visual splendor of Jiuzhaigou extends beyond its waterscapes to include striking jagged alpine mountains, vibrant forests with a multitude of hues, and numerous other remarkable natural features.

Exploring Jiuzhaigou Valley is a relaxing and pleasurable experience. Sightseeing buses transport visitors from the entrance to the three valleys with stops near the scenic attractions. Travelers disembark, stroll along wooden plank pathways to admire the sights, then re-board the bus to reach the next point of interest. Your tour guide will plan your itinerary based on your schedule, energy levels, and crowd conditions, ensuring you experience the essence of Jiuzhaigou at a leisurely pace. A typical route includes taking a tourist bus from the entrance to Nuorilang Waterfall first, then transferring to Zechawa Valley to see the Long Lake and Five-Color Pond, proceeding to Rize Valley to visit the Panda Lake, Five Flowers Lake, Pearl Shoal, Mirror Lake, and more. Finally, return to Nuorilang, descend along Shuzheng Valley to the park entrance, and explore Rhinoceros Lake, Tiger Lakes, Shuzheng Waterfall, Sparkling Lake, and other attractions along the way.

Upon concluding your Jiuzhaigou tour, your guide and driver will accompany you back to your hotel.
